Overview: think tanks in Germany
Eigene Veröffentlichungen — By Daniel Florian on 13. May 2009 15:38 pmFor Google’s Knol service, I have written an article on think tanks in Germany. The article is mainly meant as an introduction to the topic for readers from abroad. And just like Wikipedia, Knol welcomes comments and feedback from readers.
Here is an excerpt from the piece, you can read the full text on Knol:
The think tank community in Germany did not evolve in such as dynamic way as in the USA, becaus parties perform most of the tasks that think tanks fulfill in the US. Still, there are now about 150 think tanks in Germany, most of them publicly funded. But their predominant role in policy advice is challenged by a new generation of “policy entrepreneurs”.
